Our very first tournament was at Glasgow’s PLAY Expo in June 2019, and was played on PAL format (won by Jani). We hoped to host another IRL tournament in 2020 but the COVID pandemic put a stop to that – instead we hosted an online PAL tournament, CTUK Lite 2020 (won by BV).
In 2021, once again we were unable to host a IRL tournament, so we had another online tournament – this time in NTSC format, with the winner (DanV) gaining free entry to CTWC 2021.
2022 was a very exciting year for us, as it marked our return to hosting a live tournament! Gemini Games in Huddersfield very kindly let us take over most of their space for this event, and we were delighted with the turn-out, which allowed us to stage a 24-player bracket. DanV beat SV in the final and was once again our UK champion!
In 2023, we moved our live-tournament location to the amazing 1Up Gaming Bar in Didsbury, Manchester. This time we had a 22-player bracket, and a repeat of the previous years final with DanV and SV battling it out once more – with SV emerging as our UK champion!
In 2024, we’ll be returning to 1Up to host CTWC UK 2024 on Sat 3rd and Sat 4th August.
